JAPAN JULY TRIP 2009
(アメリカ人ビジターが作詞作曲)
- Arrived in Japan, 6:30PM, all wearing our green shirts Gary & Sally had done. Filled with excitement to- meet our new friends.
- Some went to bed & some went to see what the night here & how it would be.
- The next morning, we had our exam- we all pass inspection then continued our plan. - We met our new families, and friends they will be, full of excitement for what we will see.
- Mountains so beautiful, streets so clean, everyone so friendly, felt welcomed to be in Yasu city.
- Reception with the mayor, so honored to be, first time meeting, felt humble to me.
- Shrine and temples, like we've never seen, tour of butsudan, felt like a dream.
- Next we took trip, to sake brewery, had a great time with samplings. Some sweet and some dry, bought gifts then said our goodbyes.
- Took a trip of Toudaiji temple in Nara Japan. Later we saw a museum as planned.
- Next to the river cruise, that was somewhat a surprise. Down the river, with paddling guide. Laughing, singing and blowing bubbles along the way. Crashing into the grasses with both of our boats that day.
- Off to the souvenir shops and then out to lunch, what a treat eating fish on a stick, not something we do everyday, but what can we say.
- Then off to the fire station, went up the big lift. Viewing Yasu was a great gift, we felt earthquake simulation, like never before, we all had a laugh as we fell to the floor.
- Now time to get smart - went to Yasu library. Surprised to see bilingual books. Being a green sourced building, was a sight to be seen, a great example of green house extreme.
- Next off to bullet train 461, what a treat for everyone. On to Himeji castle and gardens of bloom - what a lovely place to walk for our new bride and groom. Jane put on 9 layers of Japanese dress, what a vision for our American empress.
- Today we went to the fields of rice then on to cooking- the food was so nice. The weather so hot, we all needed ice.
- Are thanks to you all for your generous care, our memories will return home with us for all to share. "Sayonara" From Your American Families.
